Dry skin often hereditary and sometimes associated with eczema. The skin is tough, dry and scaly. Avoid soaps that will dry your baby’s skin. Use baby oil, or lotions after a bath, to leave the skin soft.

The remove the crusts, massage the top of your baby’s head with warm baby oil. Leave for a couple of hours (or overnight). Comb your baby’s head back away from her face to dislodge the crusts, then shampoo. Regular shampooing accompanied by a massage may help prevent cradle cap from recurring.
