The summer months are often when we decide to make some improvements to our homes and one of the most popular ways is by redecorating. The next tip to making a room feel cosier is to add plenty of plants and floral patterns to the room. If you have empty corners then plants such as palm trees look great. Plants help to give a room a relaxed atmosphere but be careful not to go overboard or you may end up with a room that looks more like a jungle then a lounge.
Wooden and laminate flooring looks great and is still very popular however sometimes it can be cold. A rug can completely transform the atmosphere of a room. You should try to find one which is big enough to connect all the pieces of furniture together and uses colours which compliment the rest of the furniture in the room.
Think about the walls. Are you going to paint them or wallpaper them? Currently a very popular style is to paint all but one wall and then paper one feature wall in a bold often floral pattern. If you have large walls then you can hang large paintings and other pieces of art.
Creating a cosy look in a large room does not have to be difficult and with a little bit of effort and some imagination you can turn a cold draughty room into the heart of your home.
