How To Slow The Pace Of Getting Older
Have you ever woken up one morning to find yourself looking in the mirror and worrying how your face appears like it has aged, with wrinkles increasingly prominent? With the busy lives that we lead these days, it is hard to keep up with our own routines at times. Here are some ideas that might help to decrease the visibility of wrinkles.
But to start with what are they?
Wrinkles are folds, lines or creases that can appear on the neck, hands, forehead and face. They could be deep depressions in the skin that are caused when the skin has lost it is firmness. The pores and skin is made up of 3 layers:
The EPIDERMIS, the external layer that anyone can look at. This layer provides a barrier to the elements of the outside environment.
The DERMIS, which includes the structural elements of the skin is the middle layer. This is actually the ligament.
The SUBCUTANEOUS, almost all inner layer contains fat cells. They help make the skin look plump or full.
Collagen, a protein within the dermis layer, is what allows minimize facial lines. Fibres called elastin have an elastic quality which also help. After some time the collagen and fibres deteriorate that makes the pores and skin become thinner. When this happens not enough moisture can get through the epidermis. As we humans age, natural oils in our skin become less and the amount of sweat glands decrease and this can lead to our pores and skin drying out.
Some ways that we can minimize this effect are-
1/ Protect our skin from the sun. Wear sun block lotion with a SPF of 30 or greater. Long sleeve, pants, and hats to cover the skin. Remember that the Ultra violet is often very extreme on cloudy days, so put on something to cover your skin..
2/ Keeping your skin hydrated is a must. Have a good amount of water, no less than 6-8 glasses is a superb amount to have.
3/ Moisturise each morning with a good moisturiser or sunscreen. Does not have to be the costliest, something that you are comfortable with, perhaps not too oily.
4/ Don’t smoke. Smoking will draw out each of the moisture from the skin and dehydration will occur faster. This can then make the skin look much older and make appears seem older earlier than it should.
5/ Facial massages will help to stimulate the muscles and tone them up a lot quicker.
6/ Diet program is important to keeping wrinkles away. Eat a good amount of veggies and reduce the intake of fats. Eat high antioxidant foods, they will help build up collagen and rebuild elasticity in the skin.
7/ Good skin care: Exfoliating and cleansing to clear dead skin cells. Hydration of your skin with moisturiser as stated in step 3.
8/ Drinking Green Tea is also very beneficial as it contains numerous antioxidants, so can be very useful.
9/ Another good skincare idea that I have been exposed to is using honey and vitamin E. Mix a capsule of vitamin E with some honey and rub it onto the face, leave for about ten to fifteen minutes and wash off with warm soapy water. Honey helps to moisten and vitamin E is wonderful for repairing pores and skin harm.
10/ Get plenty of rest. You need to have this to help your pores and skin rejuvenate.
Getting old is something that we’ll all face eventually, it’s unavoidable. But getting there at a much slower pace is what we all have been looking for. Here’s to your success in beating growing older.
