Home Accessories – Types Of Radiators

Home Accessories – Types Of Radiators:

When you are looking for a new radiator for your home, you may be surprised by the wide range of choice available to you. Our guide takes you through the main types of radiators found in the home. Probably the most common type of all is the standard radiator. These come in various sizes, making them ideal for any house. You can also choose whether to have a single convector or double convector, depending on the space you have available and your heating needs.

An increasingly popular type of radiator is the towel heater, which is generally found mainly in bathrooms. It does basically what it says on the tin – it heats your towels while also keeping the room warm. These radiators are designed with horizontal bars so you have somewhere to hang your towels and, as they are often taller than most radiators, more attention has been paid to their aesthetics. For example, you can commonly find them made from stainless steel and in a range of different designs.

Electric radiators are also common forms of heating, particularly in those houses that don’t have central heating. Often electric radiators can be plugged in or unplugged as and when you need them. They are also often much more easily portable than other styles of radiator, making them very versatile as you can move them to different rooms if you find one location is colder than another. They come in different sizes and styles to meet all of your potential heating requirements.

The bench radiator is another popular type of radiator for the home. They’re particularly good as a designer option as they provide somewhere to sit as well as warming your room; most of them come with a bench seat on top. They’re available with a range of different seats and the radiator, which is housed in the structure below the seat, can have either horizontal or vertical heating bars. They are typically a long, low structure and make a very attractive, increasingly common alternative for wall-mounted radiators.

There are also many other types of designer radiator available, with many of them looking more like a piece of installation art rather than a practical heating solution. This provides you with great style benefits and designer radiators are becoming more popular. You can still find many traditional radiators, though, as these can often lend a rustic feel to your décor. Cast iron and chrome are popular examples of traditional radiators, showing you really do have great choice when it comes to heating your home.
