There are, fortunately, many upsides to double hung windows though. One of the first great things about these windows is that they can be installed in every room in your home. Another great feature of these windows is the safety factor. These windows can be opened on the top leaving the bottom securely closed.
Casement Windows – These windows are distinctive, partially because of their ability to open outward, allowing an abundance of light while collecting strong cross breezes. They are perfect choices for areas that are difficult to reach, like over the kitchen sink or above appliances, because they open with a crank. They are also extremely energy efficient. If you are the owner of older casement windows, inspect the hardware and hinges for strength. As long as the hardware is in good condition, these windows offer the best protection in areas where break-ins are a concern. If you do need to replace any parts or install new windows, speak with a professional installer.
